
AAUW: American Association
of University Women (http://www.aauw.org) is responsible for
much of the research on gender bias in education, including the Chilly
Classroom Climate, offers a variety of educational scholarships, including
some for returning women students and contributes to the financial support
of cases filed by women who may experience gender bias in schools, both
as faculty and as students.
NWSA: The National Women's Studies Association(http://www.nwsa.org) is the national organization for programs and courses offered and supported by universities and colleges. It offers focus groups in particular subjects, such as Women and Work and both a national and regional conferences.
The New Jersey Project (http://www.wpunj.edu/icip/njp/)offers
biannual conferences, an annual student research competition with cash
prices and a journal, Transformations, that publishes current scholarly
work in the field of women studies as well as minority studies.
