What to expect at Orientation:
New Student Orientation offers a comprehensive overview of BCC. The 90-minute program provides necessary information regarding college procedures, online resources and student services. The orientation staff offers valuable and necessary information regarding course registration, bill payment, financial aid and more. Additionally, faculty members from both academic divisions will cover information to help you be academically successful in the college classroom, including details on books, tutoring, first day expectations, communicating with your college professor and more. Included in the 90 minute program are 3 break-out sessions: Academic Advising, Financial Aid and Campus Life. Each participant must select one break out session to complete as part of the orientation program. Following the program, new students can obtain Student ID cards, parking permits and participate in a campus tour.

Academic Advising Session - This session is conducted by a BCC Academic Counselor and will offer details on logging in and using your WebAdvisor account. Additionally the counselor will provide an overview of the department’s services to help you be a successful student.

Financial Aid - This session is hosted by a member of the BCC Financial Aid Staff and will address questions related to the Financial Aid application and approval process.

Campus Life - This session is hosted by Student Activities staff members and student leaders. The session will cover campus clubs and organizations, student events, student government and more.

During Orientation you'll have the opportunity to get your BCC Student ID and your on-campus parking permit. To get both of these things during Orientation, the following documents are required:

  • A copy of your Spring 2012 class schedule
