EOF Story of Perseverance
I began attending Burlington County College (BCC) in September 2009. I travel 110 miles daily from the Atlantic City area by way of a 16-year-old car that sometimes shuts down during heavy rains. Attending classes has been a struggle, not to mention a sometimes stressful experience. During my first month of school, my car became inoperable. It spent four days in the Pemberton campus parking lot.
Thanks to the help of a BCC financial aid employee and the EOF Office, I was able to continue my academic journey. From that time forward, I knew BCC was the educational institution for me. I have been pursuing a degree in the human services profession as a social worker.
Through my dedication and hard work, I have received multiple academic scholarships awarded by the BCC Scholarship Foundation. Not to mention, achieving Dean’s List status, as well as becoming a lifetime honor member of the Chi Alpha Epsilon National Academic Honor Society awarded by the EOF Program.
Although, the road traveled has been long, hard, stressful, and at times expensive, the struggle has been well worth it. I will graduate in December 2012 with the acceptance of multiple accredited universities for transfer.
To BCC and its tremendous EOF Scholarship Foundation, I would like to express my humble and sincere gratitude.
