Java is required for many Blackboard components. Some classes may also use Java technology in course content. Java version 1.5.0_05 is what Blackboard recommends. Please note that only this specific version (NOT the latest version) has been shown to work correctly with all Blackboard components.
Always practice "safe computing" and have a virus scanner with a recent set of updates running while you are connected to the Internet!
