GOALS
The overall goal of the Department

Counselors and academic
advisors are here to:

issues;
2. Help students to assess their skills and motivation in academic matters;
3. Enable students to gain greater self-understanding, acceptance and a positive,
yet realistic self-image; and
4. Assist students with choosing appropriate courses for their majors and their transfer goals.
In addition, counselors on
staff can:
1. Provide support for students during an emotional crisis and make appropriate referrals to an outside agency; and
2 Assist students in improving social and family relationships.
