Choosing the Best Refund Method |
|
If your financial aid is more than the amount owed to Burlington County College, you will receive a refund for the remaining balance. BCC has partnered with Sallie Mae Business Solutions to provide you with the best refund options available. To receive the balance in a fast, efficient manner, sign up on-line for one of the following refund methods: (1) direct deposit, (2) Sallie Mae Debit MasterCard®, or (3) paper check.

Direct Deposit |

If you select direct deposit, your financial aid refund will automatically be deposited into your bank account. You can choose either a personal checking or savings account, in which your refund will be deposited. PLEASE NOTE – if there are any changes with your bank account information, you must go to the BCC Rapid E-Refund and provide updated information. |

Sallie Mae Debit MasterCard® |
If you select to receive your refund on a debit card, you will receive a debit card with your refund already loaded onto the card. You can then transfer your refund from the debit card into a bank account of your choice, withdraw the funds at an ATM machine or use the debit card to make purchases. Anytime you are due another financial aid refund, your money will be loaded onto this same debit card, so do not discard it. Remember to maintain this card as if it was cash. DO NOT DISCARD THE DEBIT CARD.
If you sign up for the Sallie Mae Debit MasterCard® you can:
- Transfer your balance into a bank account of your choice from the Sallie Mae website.
- Invite a parent to reload this debit card on-line with their credit card.
- Make purchases anywhere that MasterCard is accepted.
- Withdraw money at no charge from any Allpoint ATM machine.
- There is no credit check required for you to receive this debit card.

The debit card will be mailed to the address that you reported to the BCC registration department. It is your responsibility to keep your mailing address current at all times. As with any debit card, you must be aware of any additional fees, so be sure to read the Terms and Conditions that apply when using this card. Paper Checks |
If you choose not to sign up for direct deposit or a debit card, you will receive a traditional, paper
check in the mail. Paper checks will take up to 14 days from the date of the financial aid disbursement to be mailed. All checks are mailed by Sallie Mae Business Solutions and will be sent to the address you have on file with the Registration Department. Keep your mailing address current by updating your information before the financial aid disbursement date with the BCC registration department.
PLEASE NOTE: Cash your check immediately upon receipt. If you do not receive your check or it is returned because of a bad address, you will be charged a $15.00 fee to have the check re-issued. If you receive a check and don't cash it, your check will be void 90 days after the check date. If you need a check re-issued after that date, you must pay a $1.00 check fee to have the check reissued. |
