Transfer of Credits (including ASL/IE Credits)

DATE COMPLETED:


1.    Apply to Burlington County College (bcc.edu).


2.    Enroll in a degree (AA.ASL/IE;AS.ASL/DEA) or certificate (CRT.ASL/IE) program.

3.    Send an official transcript from each school that you attended to:

4.  Compile a complete portfolio of Syllabi and Course Descriptions (from the college catalogs) of ASL/IE classes that you took at each school that you attended.

5.  Send the completed portfolio, along with a cover letter that includes your name, address, phone number(s), e-mail address and any other pertinent information to:

6.  After the Registrar's Office has determine the acceptability and appropriateness of the [non-ASL/IE] credits to the programs that you chose, a copy of the evaluation will be mailed to you.

7.  Take your copy of the report to the Test Center to schedule any needed College Basic Skills Assessments (See below for exemptions to the College Basic Skills Assessments).

8.    If placed below a college level after testing, register for appropriate remedial classes.  Upon completion of remedial classes, register for College Composition I (ENG101).

9.    If placed at a college level, and no college-level English was transferred, register for College Composition I (ENG101).

10.  If placed at a college level, and college-level English was transferred, register for appropriate ASL/IE classes that meet prerequisites based upon your acceptable, appropriate, transferred ASL/IE courses.

*NOTE: To avoid frustration and/or disappointment, transfer students are strongly encourage to process the necessary paper work at least a semester BEFORE they plan to register for BCC courses.   It is recommended that ALL syllabi with a cover letter be received by BCC' by the last week of April for those planning to register for Fall semester, or that ALL syllabi with a cover letter be received by the last week of November for those planning to register for Spring semester.

Students may be exempted from taking the assessment if they:
