IEP-221 Voice to Sign Interpreting 3 cr. (Anticipated to be offered during Fall)
 

This course focuses on building “expressive” interpreting skills, such as changing a message from spoken English into American Sign Language.  Theoretical components, principles, ethics are emphasized; strategies for effective receptive listening and text analysis are discussed and applied. Classroom practicum and field observation are involved.
 

Prerequisites:  IEP-102 Interpeter Ethics 3 cr.
 

Corequisites:  IEP-211 Sign to Voice Interpreting (& usually in conjunction with IEP-201 Introduction to Interpreting)
