IEP-111 Contrastive Linguistics 3 cr. (anticipated to be offered during
Fall)
This course is designed to introduce the student to
the study of American Sign Language, its “phonology”, morphology, grammar
(syntax) and meaning (semantics). Geographical, generational, racial,
and gender differences are investigated. Similarities and differences
between English and American Sign Language are included.
Prerequisites:
ASL 101 Elementary American Sign Language I 3 cr.ASL-102 Elementary American Sign Language II 3 cr.ASL-103 Deafness & Culture 3 cr.ASL-104 Fingerspelling 3 cr.
