IEP-102 Interpreter Ethics 3 cr. (anticipated to be offered during Spring)
 

This course introduces students to the certifications and the Code of Ethics set forth by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.Included are skills necessary to prepare and to perform ethically and professionally as an interpreter in a variety of settings and fields such as education, medicine, and law.  Class discussions are based upon readings and evaluations include mock vignettes which are videotaped.
 

Prerequisites:    ASL 101 Elementary American Sign Language I 3 cr.

                        ASL 102 Elementary American Sign Language II 3 cr.
                        ASL 103 Deafness & Culture 3 cr.
                        ASL 104 Fingerspelling 3 cr.
                        ASL 201 Intermediate American Sign Language I 3 cr.
