Dawn A. McLaurin (Business Administration, 1998) tutored as an alumna (Spring 1999) for assistance in engineering/physical science courses. Her biography was published in National Dean’s List, December 1999 and she is now active in fundraising for the NAACP of the greater Delaware Valley annual banquet.
Austin S. Gravel (Computer Graphics and Multimedia, 1999) has been continuing his on-staff work as a Graphic Designer in Medford Lakes. He has also been building a client base for freelance Graphic Design work and setting up a home office.
Mindy Lynn Brick- McDowel’s (Business Management, 2000) life has changed drastically since she got a higher education. She graduated in the top 10% of her class at Rowan, which took a lot of work but it paid off. She has a great job with Adams Respiratory Therapeutics as a Pharmaceutical Rep. selling Mucinex. She’s doing something she loves and believes in. Before that, she worked at Walmart as a pharmacy Tech. In April of ’05 she married Eric O. McDowell, which was the best thing she ever did. They are currently looking for a new house so they can start a family.
Linda L. Hart (Human Services, 2003), with the support and encouragement of her BCC co-workers, family, and friends, decided at age 50 to pursue her long lost desire to have her Bachelors degree. She graduated in May ‘03 from BCC and enrolled at Southern Illinois University Carbondale in August ‘03. She earned her BS in WorkForce Education, Training, and Development in Aug ‘04 and in January ‘05 she obtained a part time position as an Education Specialist with Mercer County Community College. In September ’05 she became a full time Academic Counselor.
Susan Pressler, (Arts, 1996) attended the University of Delaware Nursing Program after graduating from BCC. She graduated with her BSN in May of 1999. She is so proud of attending BCC before going to a university because she learned important essential study skills that she used throughout her entire schooling. She applied the same basic skills to her current job as a nurse case manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She is a successful professional and is thankful that she established her grounds to grow from BCC.
John Barrett, (Liberal Arts, 1997) graduated cum laude from Southern New Hampshire University in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences. He was also inducted into the National Honor Society, Alpha Chi, in 2005. John is currently serving as the State Service Officer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of New Hampshire, and is one of only 53 Service Officers representing the organization nationwide, and U.S. Territories. Service Officers are advocates, representing fellow veterans and assisting them to file and process claims with the Veterans Administration for injuries and conditions that occurred while in service. John married a fellow BCC Alum, Kimberly Brown, also from the Class of 1997, in February, 1998. She is currently a member of the management team at Service Credit Union, in Bedford, New Hampshire.
Amy Mears (Liberal Arts, 2004) gave birth to her second son about a week after graduating from BCC. She took a year off to be with her new born. Amy attended BCC for ten years part-time and was accepted to Rutgers Camden in 2005. She will graduate in May 2007 with a degree in psychology with honors. She is applying to Rutgers Camden for her MA in psychology. Amy has also been working with her professors as a Research Assistant and writes grant proposals for the psychology department as well. She is currently finishing a research project on diversity and organizational mobility focused on group level and individual level of analysis. Amy hopes to teach at BCC some day and encourage other students the same way she was encouraged to go from a student that failed to an honor student heading toward a master’s degree and some day a PhD.
Robert Legnaioli (Business Administration, 1995) has worked for the United States Postal Service at Browns Mills since 1995 and has been a US Navy Reservist since 1988. Robert was recalled to active duty to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as well as Kuwait for both operation Iraqi Freedom and operation Enduring Freedom. He attended Rowan University and graduated with a B.S. degree in Business, Marketing. He is thinking about pursuing a master’s degree and possibly considering teaching. Robert is also helping his girlfriend attain her Associate degree in Nursing at BCC.
Dean Wei-Peng Su (Business Administration, 1998) went to the University of Illinois at Chicago after graduating BCC to complete his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. He currently works as a Tax accountant at Nalco Company located in Napesville, IL.
