WHEN SHOULD YOU SEE YOUR ADVISOR
Office of Academic Advisement & Transfer

Students assigned an Academic Advisor should see their advisor as soon as possible.

The earlier in the semester the better. The advisor is available to help you decipher all the catalog language that confuses you. They can relate to your career goals and help you with problems that occur within the academic year.

Inside the BCC catalog there are blank degree sheets which should be completed in regards to your degree and major. Take this planning tool along with you to see your advisor. If adjustments need to be made, the advisor can give you advice towards your ultimate goal.

You are able to access the Directory of Advisors and their location information. Please note that if you wish an appointment with an advisor, call ahead. If you talk to the audix system here at the college-- Leave a CLEAR message with your name, phone number, question and a time when you can be most easily reached. If you have access to a web site, send an e-mail message to them. Remember--

-

Be flexible. Advisors have office hours and do teach classes not only at the Pemberton Campus, but at the Mt. Laurel TEC Center and Briggs Road. They have travel time and class prep time to consider. They also know that a lot of you out there have jobs and families. To make advising work we must all work as a team.
