Learning is For Everyone
LIFE was founded in March 1990 by a group of retirees interested in continuing their education on an informal basis. It is sponsored by Burlington County College in cooperation with the Elderhostel Institute Network for support and development.
LIFE started holding classes in June 1990 with 50 members. Today the program has grown to over 400 members.
More than sixty courses are offered during the college year with a majority of the classes led by LIFE members. All class leaders are volunteers and receive no pay. Teaching experience is not necessary; in fact some of us have a favorite topic or area of expertise that we have shared by leading a class. Our members come from all walks of life. Classes are held at the college campuses in Pemberton, Willingboro and Mount Laurel, with free parking available.
Our Institute is one of more than 250 operating throughout North America. Our members live throughout Burlington County.
