Blackboard CE6 Password Retrieval

All users are required to change their password the first time they log into Blackboard. When you did this you were given the opportunity to set up a "secret question/secret answer" to retrieve forgotten passwords. If you did not set up a secret question and answer, or if you are unsuccessful in receiving your login information using the process described below, contact your Instructor or dlearn@bcc.edu for assistance.

1. Go to http://ce6hosting.blackboard.com/
2. Click "Burlington County College"
3. The Entry Page will load
4. Next to the Log In button, click "Forgot your login information?"
5. In the E-mail text box, enter your BCC provided e-mail address.
   This is usually firstname_lastname@mymail.bcc.edu
6. Click OK
7. On the next screen, in the text box under your Secret Question
   Enter the answer exactly as you entered it when you set up your account
8. Click OK
9. You will receive either a Confirmation or an Error screen
1. If you entered an incorrect answer, re-enter the answer and
   Click the Try Again button
2. If the system confirms that it sent a new password to your e-mail account
   Click OK
10. Log in to your e-mail account at http://mymail.bcc.edu/
11. Open the message with the subject:
    "Your Blackboard Learning System login information"
12. Inside that message you will have a new password
    The new Password is often a jumble of numbers and letters like c6kTyXhb
13. Carefully copy the new password, making note of uppercase letters and numbers
14. Log out of the e-mail system

Since the new password will be hard to remember, you may want to change your password. You can do so immediately.

1. Return to http://ce6hosting.blackboard.com/
2. Click "Burlington County College"
3. Log In as normal, but using the new password
4. Click My Settings
5. From the My Profile tab, click the Change Password button
6. In the Current password text box, enter your current (hard to remember) password
7. In the New password text box, enter your a new password
   Passwords should be easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess!
   Passwords are case sensitive and must be at least 4 characters.
8. In the Confirm new password text box, re-enter your new password
9. If you want to receive your login information by e-mail in case you ever forget your user name or password again, check that the secret question and answer are set up correctly
10. Remember that in order to receive your login information by e-mail, you must enter the answer exactly as entered here. Also, in order to receive your login information by e-mail, you must have a valid e-mail address in your profile.
11. Click Save
12. Click OK
13. Continue using Blackboard as usual.
